General health screenings for infants, children and adolescents. Why are well-child exams important?
Healthy living habits start from a young age, which is why Dr Thusi highly recommends that parents bring in their children for routine general health checks even if they are not sick. The well-child visit is an opportunity for Dr Thusi to examine the child and guide you as the parent. She can compare the child's development to previous visits and form a baseline for your child's growth and development.
The visit is also a chance to talk to parents about safety issues, nutrition and advances in medicine that may benefit the child.
